MAJOR FUNCTION:
As a Charter School Application Writer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling and comprehensive applications for charter school authorization. Your primary responsibility will be to articulate the mission, vision, educational philosophy, and operational plan of the proposed charter school in a manner that aligns with the requirements set forth by the model charter application form for Florida Department of Education.

MAJOR FUNCTION:
As a Charter School Application Writer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling and comprehensive applications for charter school authorization. Your primary responsibility will be to articulate the mission, vision, educational philosophy, and operational plan of the proposed charter school in a manner that aligns with the requirements set forth by the model charter application form for Florida Department of Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough research on the local educational landscape, community demographics, and educational needs.
- Analyze existing charter school applications, successful models, and best practices to inform the development of a competitive application.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including educators, administrators, and community members, to gather input and insights for the application.
- Write clear, concise, and persuasive narratives addressing each section of the application, including the mission statement, educational approach, curriculum design, assessment strategies, governance structure, budget, and implementation plan.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements stipulated by the charter school authorizing entity.
- Incorporate data and evidence-based practices to support claims and proposals within the application.
- Organize and format the application documents according to the specified guidelines and formatting requirements.
- Create supporting materials such as appendices, charts, tables, and graphs to enhance the clarity and credibility of the application.
- Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of draft applications to ensure accuracy, coherence, and consistency.
- Solicit feedback from relevant stakeholders and incorporate suggestions to strengthen the application.
- Manage the application timeline effectively to meet all submission deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Policy, Communications, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in grant writing, proposal development, or similar writing-intensive roles, preferably in the education sector.
- Experience in Florida Charter School Application writing.
- Familiarity with charter school regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong research and analytical abilities, with the capacity to synthesize complex information into coherent narratives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders, while also capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
