Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a Senior Level Workday Benefits Specialist to deliver expertise in Benefits within Workday. The selected candidate will be expected to support the planning, implementation, configuration, design, deployment, and testing of Workday Feature Releases, which occur twice annually. In addition, the resource will also help support operational tasks including providing backlog support and assistance with critical operational issues as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Benefits workstream throughout the life cycle of projects.
- Troubleshoot and manage system issues to resolution.
- Analyze and document any Benefits related issues.
- Recommend solutions, initiate corrective actions, follow up on issue resolution and inform customers of status.
- Responsible for adhering to the current project management methodology while influencing best practices, process improvements and procedures
- Interfaces with the customer to understand their overall objectives and requirements.
- Understand the Board’s ERP architecture and how Workday integrates within the system
- Assist with planning and executing regression testing for each Workday Feature Release
- Assist as needed with Workday scrum teams
- Support peer reviews on changes made by developers
- Understand operational requirements and assist with providing support as needed with design, build, and test.
- Provide insight to your functional area from your product and industry knowledge
- Review implementation of defined processes for Workday, record findings and make recommendations for changes to those processes, as needed.
- Review the operational defects or errors and provide scrum team support for remediation
- Support transition to automated testing solution once identified
- Thoroughly assess all existing Workday configuration and artifacts. Document findings and recommendations to scrum and QA team
- Provide recommendations, develop action plans, and help implement capabilities to improve Workday Feature Release management
- Provide assessment and impact analysis of Workday feature releases relevant to Board’s configuration
- Support for operational issues and enhancements to Workday
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizen preferred. Green card holders permitted
- Simultaneously works on several complex assignments, some requiring collaboration with external groups
- Possess strong analytical and research skills
- At least 7 years of enterprise resource planning (ERP), Workday HCM upgrade experience.
- 7 years of industry knowledge in Benefits AdministrationAt least 7 Years’ experience in the following: implementing and configure Workday solutions, designing, configuring, testing, and deploying business requirements across multiple Workday module(s)
- Hands on experience with Workday configurations
- At least 7 years of experience with assessing, implementing, and testing Workday Feature Releases, enhancements, updates
- Possess clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communication for test and change related documentation
- Work independently and meet deadlines for assigned tasksAt least 4 years of enterprise resource planning (ERP), HCM implementation, and upgrade experience.
- Completion of at least one full implementation with Workday HCM and Benefits.
- Detailed understanding of ERP System concepts and general module functionality.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Configuration including Benefits.
- 2-5 years of industry knowledge in Benefits Administration or Human Resource Management with an understanding of benefit concepts such as plan designs, Cobra, Evidence of Insurability, and age reduction rules.
- Demonstrated customer-facing skills and the understanding and ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Experience in timeline management, issue tracking and configuration execution.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience (MIS, CS, HR,HRIS).
Desired Qualifications:
- Workday certified in HCM and Benefits is a plus
