Your Role:

We are currently in search of a highly skilled Low Voltage/Access Control Technician to join our dynamic team. As an Low Voltage/Access Control Technician, you will be at the forefront of implementing cutting-edge security solutions, ensuring that our systems are not only robust and compliant with the latest industry standards but also tailored to meet the unique needs of our operations. In this role, you will be expected to manage a team of dedicated technicians, guiding them through complex installations and maintenance tasks while fostering an environment of learning and professional growth. Your leadership will ensure that projects are completed within the set timelines, budgets, and quality standards.


The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to the table. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and security of our telecommunications network, making it a safer and more reliable platform for our valued customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance:
    • Assist in installing access control systems, including card readers, gates, alarms, cameras, and other related hardware.
    • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of access control equipment.
    • Update system software and hardware as required.
  • System Monitoring and Operation:
    • Monitor access control systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
    • Respond to alarms by following established protocols.
    • Operate control panels and systems to manage access permissions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of installation and maintenance activities.
    • Document incidents and system failures, reporting to supervisors as necessary.
    • Help prepare system performance reports.
  • Customer and Client Interaction:
    • Provide basic support and information to users about how to use access control systems.
    • Assist in conducting user training sessions on the proper use of security systems.
    • Interact with clients to understand their access control needs and requirements.
  • Learning and Development:
    • Participate in training and workshops to learn about new technologies and methodologies in access control.
    • Work closely with mentors and peers to gain practical experience.
    • Stay updated with advancements in access control technologies.


Working Conditions:

  • Flexible to work in various environments, including indoor, outdoor, and diverse weather conditions.
  • Occasionally work at heights and handle low-voltage electricity.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required to meet client needs.


Expectations:

  • Maintain a mature attitude when interacting with internal and external customers
  • Maintain and create an executable and assigned schedule
  • Ability to Travel (overnight if necessary)
  • Ensure a clean, organized, stocked, and well maintenance vehicle
  • Complete any paperwork associated with job responsibilities as needed
  • Properly maintain company issued assets and use as directed
  • Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor to achieve departmental goals and objectives


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in access control systems or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and security systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
