Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or (LCSW) licensed clinical social worker to join our multidisciplinary team at our drug rehabilitation facility. As an LMFT specializing in substance abuse treatment, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals and their families struggling with addiction. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

Responsibilities:

  1. Individual and Group Therapy: Conduct individual therapy sessions to assess clients' needs, provide counseling, and develop personalized treatment plans. Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on topics such as relapse prevention, coping skills, and family dynamics.

  2. Family Counseling: Provide family therapy to address the impact of addiction on familial relationships, communication patterns, and support systems. Collaborate with clients' family members to promote understanding, healing, and healthy boundaries.

  3. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health, substance abuse history, and psychosocial functioning. Formulate clinical impressions and differential diagnoses in accordance with DSM criteria.

  4. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' strengths, needs, and treatment goals. Utilize evidence-based interventions and therapeutic modalities to address substance abuse issues, co-occurring disorders, and underlying psychological factors.

  5. Case Management: Coordinate care with other members of the treatment team, including physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers. Monitor clients' progress, adjust treatment strategies as needed, and provide referrals to additional services or community resources.

  6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, including intake assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, confidentiality guidelines, and documentation requirements.

  7. Education and Prevention: Conduct educational workshops and presentations on topics related to substance abuse, addiction recovery, and mental health wellness. Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about addiction, relapse triggers, and healthy coping strategies.

  8. Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises and emergencies as they arise, providing immediate support and intervention to ensure clients' safety and well-being. Collaborate with the treatment team to implement crisis management protocols and facilitate appropriate referrals for higher levels of care.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of practice.
  • Certification or specialized training in substance abuse counseling or addiction treatment preferred.
  • Experience working in a drug rehabilitation facility or similar clinical setting highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain a client-centered approach to care.
  • Knowledge of ethical guidelines, legal regulations, and best practices in the field of substance abuse treatment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in the field of addiction counseling.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may involve working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client needs and program schedules.
  • The work environment may include exposure to individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • The therapist may encounter challenging and emotionally charged situations requiring a calm, compassionate, and professional demeanor.
  • This role may require occasional travel for training, conferences, or professional development opportunities.
