The company has created a unique product that allows them to cut project time and be involved in multiple projects like public storage, hospitality, and student housing sectors. As the Structural Steel Estimator, you will play a key role in our estimating department, responsible for accurately estimating projects in the $100k—$200k range across multiple commercial construction projects. This role requires handling a high volume of projects simultaneously, typically around 10-15 jobs plus revision work.

Estimator Responsibilities:

• Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel components.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to understand requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Utilize estimating software and tools to perform take-offs, calculate material quantities, and assess labor and equipment costs.
• Prepare detailed and well-organized bid proposals, including breakdowns of costs, schedules, and project timelines.
• Participate in bid review meetings and negotiations with clients to address any questions or concerns related to the estimates.
• Maintain accurate estimates, bids, and project documentation records for reference and future analysis.
  

Estimator Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Proven experience as a Structural Steel Estimator in commercial construction projects.
• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately assess project requirements and costs.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000 (DOE) + bonus (5-10%) based on company profitability
