  • The ability to help steer and maintain a full litigation workload, with a consistently growing ability to help plan and execute defense strategies in complex cases, including management of expert witnesses and third-party practice;

  • At least 4 years of experience with a litigation defense firm (substantive career experience prior to your work in the legal industry is also viewed favorably);
  • High proficiency with many of the following tools: Westlaw, Pacer, Clio, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Nuance Power PDF, Microsoft 365

What you will do

  • Play an integral role in small, collaborative litigation teams;
  • Actively participate in and coordinate of case development and investigation;
  • Accurately and consistently identify, calendar, and maintain all case-related deadlines to ensure all legal obligations are met or exceeded;
  • Create and maintain active digital case files to facilitate effective and efficient litigation;
  • Perform initial preparation and finalization of motions and other documents in Federal and District Courts and arbitration proceedings;
  • Coordinate and support attorneys in:
  • Preparation and participation in depositions and preparatory sessions therefor;
  • Preparation for and attendance at court proceedings and conducting oral argument in procedural, discovery, pre-trial, and other substantive hearings;
  • Drafting reporting and analytical correspondence to clients and counsel; and
  • Preparing mediation statements and preparation for settlement conferences.
  • Trial and arbitration preparation;

Who you will work with

You will work alongside the Managing Partner, Muliha Khan, and our Team of accomplished attorneys and legal and administrative professionals. You will work closely within your Litigation Teams to help drive the litigation process forward and advocate for the Firm’s clients. You will communicate with the Firm’s clients, experts, vendors, partner organizations, and other counsel to arrange calls, meetings, document and records collaboration, etc.

What you will earn

The position has a full-time annual salary range of $55K to $75K depending on your experience. Your benefits will include 168 hours of holiday- and paid-time off per year; firm-paid 401k contributions; 100% employer-paid high-quality health and dental insurance; life insurance; optional vision and short-term disability insurance at employer-sponsored rates. Flexible and non-traditional scheduling are available.

As a cloud-based firm, Z&A operates under a hybrid remote/in-office model.
