QuarterLine is currently seeking a part-time, Registered Nurse with a specialty in Emergency Services to join our team at Fort Riley. Fort Riley is in North Central Kansas on the Kansas River between Junction City and Manhattan. As an employee of QuarterLine, you will have the opportunity to treat active duty personnel, military retirees, eligible veterans, and their enrolled family members at Irwin Army Community Hospital.

Their mission is to ensure all Active Duty, Family Members and Retirees receive the services they demand and expect. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities: Provide age-specific care based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the Fort Riley, Irwin Army Community Hospital Inpatient Clinics; specific health care provider's orders; the physical, mental and emotional needs of the patient; and the policies and procedures.

The HCW performing services under this agreement shall have sufficient experience to be able to adequately treat diseases and injuries to include, but not be limited to, the following: Ability to perform the following procedures (specialty-specific) as a registered nurse is required but not limited to: 12 Lead EKG PAP/Pelvic examination/PAP smears Intravenous access devices (ports and catheters) as well as Broviac/Hickman catheters and Peripheral Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) lines Eye, Throat, Nasal and/or wound culture Insertion and maintenance of oral and nasopharyngeal airways and positive pressure ventilations Visual Acuity check Telemetry Orthostatic (tilt) vital signs Wound cleaning/Dressing changes Phlebotomy Eye, wound and ear irrigation Sterile prep for minor surgical procedures Medication administration per licensure and certification - administer, titrate, and assess - including reversal agents Administer immunizations to all age groups with appropriate medical record review Accucheck/ Finger stick Set up, operate, and monitor medical equipment Communicate with Provider, CNOIC, COR - to include expressing concerns regarding patient interview to Provider EMR Patient History/Medication reconciliation/Physical assessments/Assess vital signs/Comprehensive behavioral health nursing assessments/Obtain measurements and completes appropriate health screenings Patient/Family education Participate in CODE responses/Call CODES as required Respond to cardiopulmonary arrest as appropriate and arrange appropriate backup from the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Respond to neonatal resuscitation as appropriate and arrange for appropriate back up from the Pediatricians Prepare exam rooms for procedures/exams/specimens collection and assist Providers - label, log and document appropriate patient information prior to transporting specimen for lab processing Clean disinfection and reassemble medical equipment/Clean and restock procedure rooms with supplies, forms, and linens/Dispose of trash and regulated medical waste, and soiled linens/Inform appropriate POC's for supplies Follow all hospital policies, procedures, regulations, and Joint Commission Standards (TJC) Perform appointment setting through use of CHCS as needed in support of clinic functions Perform daily quality control checks on clinic glucose test monitor under supervision of senior nursing personnel Assist Front Desk operations, as needed, to be determined by clinic Leadership team Maintain a Competency Assessment Folder and keeps the COR informed of issues to include all mandatory trainings Assist with preparing clinic for business prior to starting patient care Transport patients to other units/departments assuring safety of patient Peripheral venous lines Additionally, ability to perform the following procedures as an ED registered nurse is required but not limited to: Nebulized Respiratory Treatments Point of Care Lab Testing: Urine HCG and ISTAT Venipunctures for laboratory testing Venous blood gases Administration and titration of critical care IV medications Assist with placement of basic and advance airway adjuncts Assist with sterile procedures Apply different patient isolation procedures Assist with Pelvic Examinations Familiarity with specialized equipment in the ED (ER) - i.e. BEAR Hugger, Rapid Infuser, Fluid Warmer, etc. Conscious/moderation sedation Minimum Qualifications: Degree/Education: The HCW shall be a qualified registered nurse trained at an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Certifications: The HCW shall have and maintain a current BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Required certifications must be maintained at all times. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be endorsed through either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.

Experience: The HCW performing services under this contract shall have a minimum of one (1) year of ED experience within the last three (3) years treating all ages. Recent completion of nursing clinicals can be counted towards experience. The HCW must have sufficient experience to be able to perform the duties of this position.

Licensure/Registration: Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license in any of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, and be able to obtain clinical privileges to individually practice medicine at IACH. This license must be current (not revoked, suspended, or lapsed in registration), Valid [the issuing authority accepts and considers QA information (i.e.

practitioner professional performance and conduct in determining continued licenses)], and unrestricted (not subject to restriction pertaining to the scope, location, or type of practice ordinarily granted to other applicants for similar licenses in granting jurisdiction). Citizenship : U.S. citizenship.

Credentialing : Ability to pass background check and drug screen. Current physical and immunizations. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working with the military population.

Work Location, Hours, and Physical Requirements: Physical Requirements : You will be working in a military treatment facility and must be on the premises to perform the job. The environment is fast-paced and multifaceted, with conditions and duties that can change quickly throughout a shift. Normal Duty Hours/Shifts : 24/7 rotating shifts Monday through Friday.

Normal hours for ED include 24-hour operations 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Shifts may be 0700-1900, 1900-0700, 1200-0001, 1200-2000 or 1600-0001. Contractor will ensure that a minimum of 6, 12 hour shifts per month are covered by a RN; however, this is subject to change at the convenience of the Government.

Shifts will be designated by the Department Chief or Clinic OIC/Administrative Officer. Scheduling. The schedule or scheduling process is as follows: HCWs shall perform services on a duty schedule established by the Director of Nursing Services (DNS), COR or Chief/OIC/Acting OIC.

The duty schedule shall be made out in advance of performance, will annotate/identify the contract employees scheduled to work the required shift-hours established by the Government, and shall be submitted to the COR for official record. Starting and ending times, as well as specific days of the week, will vary and may include rotating shifts consisting of days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. The Government maintains the right to change schedules to meet operational needs.
