PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Arranges, processes, and implements shipment of finished printing jobs and envelopes for timely, accurate and complete delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Checks quality; counts and packs materials for finished printing jobs for timely, accurate and complete shipments.
  • Prepares and processes necessary paperwork for deliveries for timely and accurate records, controls and reports on individual orders.
  • Performs job finishing activities to prepare the materials for packing and shipping, as directed.
  • Monitors status of in?process jobs for estimated completion time and shipping requirements to provide for efficient use of shipping facilities and timely delivery.
  • Monitors the use of established shipping/receiving procedures and practices, and participates in identifying and implementing meaningful improvements.
  • Performs upkeep of the finishing and shipping/receiving areas for safety, appearance and efficient use, as directed.
  • Receives, accepts, helps unload and distributes incoming materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Keeps Production Scheduler and Operations Manager informed on readiness and availability of materials for scheduled printing jobs to provide for efficient scheduling and loadingAdditional Responsibilities
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary to meet the needs of the department as directed and evaluated by the Vice President, Production.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely, actively attends to and conveys understanding when listening to others.
  • Follows all established safety procedures and precautions when operating equipment.
  • Maintains cooperative relationships and contributes positively to the group goals by interacting with team members in a respectful way, assisting others, sharing information and working daily to improve the team's performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma required, with one to two years experience in a production environment with shipping and/or receiving experience preferred. Ability to gain and maintain knowledge of standard operating procedures in the shipping/receiving area. Hands?on experience with personal computer and general knowledge of system operating mainframe. Must be able to work with forklift and/or pallet jack equipment, scales and chestchire.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds. Noise levels can escalate when certain equipment operating and may be intense or continuous. Necessary to bend, reach, crouch, kneel, stoop on a regular basis throughout the working shift. Must be able to operate pallet jack. Space can be limited at times requiring movement of raw and finished goods, and inadequate lighting in work area. Minimal exposure to warehouse dirt, dust, and fumes or airborne particles. Working with and near moving mechanical parts required. Exposure to occasional extreme heat and cold.
