General Fund Lead Accountant
Location: Either DFAS-Indianapolis, DFAS-Columbus, Indianapolis, Columbus and Army HQ in Arlington, VA
Rapier Solutions seeks a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) General Fund Lead Accountant to join our team. The SME General Fund Lead Accountant will provide expertise and guidance in general fund operations, accounting, and budgeting within the Department of Defense (DoD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and expert resource for general fund accounting and budgeting matters.
- Provide leadership and direction in the implementation and execution of general fund accounting processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal government accounting standards, including Statement of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), OMB Circular A-11, and OMB Circular A-136.
- Utilize expertise in DoD financial operations, including experience with the Defense Departmental Reporting System (DDRS).
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgetary controls.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices to inform decision-making and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
- Valid and current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license issued by an accredited State Board of Accountancy.
- At least 3 years of specific experience in general fund operations, accounting, and budgeting within the DoD.
- Familiarity with federal government accounting standards and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments.
