Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Responsible for management and oversight of Radiology services including personnel management, facilities and equipment oversight, vendor relations and service protocols and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exercises coordination and supervision over assigned imaging staff.
- Personal scanning time on all clinic owned MRI/X-ray devices.
- Maintenance of personal certifications and skills.
- Hiring, training, and discipline of all imaging department staff with particular emphasis on competence of technical staff.
- Management of staff schedules, cost, and credentials.
- Coordination of relations with radiology groups that provide reading service.
- Coordination of technical communications to all points radiologists, OA doctors, clinic locations, and hospitals.
- Coordination of routine and emergency maintenance and repair activities from all equipment and service providers.
- Oversight of condition and technical quality of all equipment.
- Coordination with OrthoArkansas IT Department to meet all patient care requirements relative to imaging services.
- Coordination with clinical staff to meet all patient care needs relative to imaging services.
- Participate with department leaders to do strategic, financial, and operational planning.
- Develop, monitor, and adapt policies, procedures, and standards to meet requirements of regulatory agencies and customers.
- Any and all other tasks as requested by management and ownership to provide top quality imaging service to OrthoArkansas patients, providers, external customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology.
- Certification as a radiologic technologist through ARRT or equivalent certification board.
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in radiology or medical imaging.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical imaging technologies, including X-ray, MRI, and CT.
- Familiarity with PACS systems and radiology software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve problems, make decisions, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient-centered care.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- State licensed.
- ARRT
- BLS
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
- Basic: 10-Key, Accounting, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
