Job Description
Position Summary:

The Senior Director of Operations (Solar) will be responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight during the engineering, planning, start-up, and construction phases of a self-performing construction project. The incumbent must demonstrate competencies in areas such as safety, quality project management, planning, budgeting, contract negotiations, procurement, engineering, change management, and effective communication to build relationships and serve customers.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Director will establish a culture and attitude of safety within the company and projects that ensures the health and welfare of the people, and will encourage positive behavior on each project.
They will develop professional and respectful leaders and managers who deploy the project management system that establishes a leadership position in the market to facilitate excellence in everything the company does.
They will hire and facilitate the development of individuals who possess the required leadership and competency to produce high-performing outcomes for the company. All teams will be established and staffed in a manner that produces an "A-team" result.
The Director will establish and lead a culture and program that produces high-quality and high-performing power plants, and will establish a cohesive, connected, and collaborative relationship with the clientele. They will serve the client in a manner that promotes a trusting relationship where the company anticipates their needs and follows through with their commitments within the designated time and budget.
The Director will establish the project management program to ensure schedules are used as a tool to proactively manage the on-time execution of the projects.
The Director will execute the business strategy in a more consistent, predictable, and reliable manner than the competition, producing lower operational risk, lower operating costs, and increased revenues relative to the competitors, thus creating value for the customers and shareholders.
The individual will produce a system that achieves results in accordance with the business strategy and plan, promoting continuous improvement, Lean Thinking, Six Sigma, and learning from their lessons, thus incorporating all that back into the procurement system and customer service program.
The Director will establish and lead the project management program to produce a predictable fiscal outcome for the company.
This will be accomplished by employing fundamental budgeting, planning, monitoring, and forecasting processes that ensure the leadership and company understand the financial status of each project.
The project management program will ensure the health of the company by establishing positive cash flow and collecting their receivables on time. The Director will intentionally lead and develop others to lead the development of the company's greatest asset - its people - through regular and consistent coaching and feedback systems that provide regular and direct feedback on performance and goal progress.

Education and Experience Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 15 years of construction experience and a proven construction background, with at least 10 years of solar construction project experience.
They must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent (8 years of construction experience) in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited university, as well as demonstrated experience in Construction Management and leadership of people.

Preferred Skills/Abilities: The ideal candidate must have strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a valid current driver's license eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage, and a valid current passport for travel (including air travel) outside the U.S.
Extensive travel will be required.
