Job Overview
We are seeking a Solar Sales Estimator to drive revenue through established general contractor (GC) relationships. You will leverage your existing network and contractor sales experience to secure commercial solar projects in the state of CA. This role combines some technical estimation accuracy with relationship-driven sales execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Sales: Convert general contractor networks (and find new ones) into consistent solar project pipelines.
  • Produce Estimates: Create accurate solar project cost estimates & proposals to project scope.
  • Manage Accounts: Maintain and deepen long-term partnerships with commercial GCs and Electrical Contractors.
  • Review Specifications in ITB: Analyze blueprints for solar layouts, and specifications for bidding.
  • Collaborate Daily: Partner with estimators and project management teams.
  • Negotiate Contracts: Finalize pricing, scopes of work, and contract terms with General/Prime & Electrical Contractor estimators/decision-makers.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in contractor sales or construction material sales. Preferably estimator/sales experience in one of the Trades.
  • Network: Active, existing relationships with regional and West Coast general contractors and developers.
  • Solar Knowledge: Basic understanding (or ability to learn quick) of photovoltaic (PV) systems, panels, racking, and inverters.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Blueprint Reading: Proven ability to accurately interpret architectural and electrical plans.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation, strategy, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Character: Must be self-starter and team player.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to project sites.

Hybrid work environment. Preferably at office daily (majority of the work week) unless meeting with Customers
$90k salary +commission
