Job Description
This is a full- time position that is located in the Western Area Power Administration in Montrose, CO. The pay for this position is $28.40/hr., which includes PTO and paid federal holidays. General Function
Provide warehouse support for a fast-paced environment. Handle responsibilities including inventory management, stock replenishment, shipping and receiving, and materials handling.

Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)
• Provide all necessary labor to operate and maintain warehouse facilities located Montrose, Colorado within the established warehouse operating hours
• Proactively manage the warehouses to improve efficiencies of established practices, processes, and procedures.
• Asset and Property Management. Assist WAPA staff in performing property/asset management functions.
• Provide receipt information and attach asset number to the item when assigned by WAPA Property Management staff.
• Obtain responsible users’ signatures prior to release of assets, following WAPA’s receiving policies and procedures.
• Obtain required property information from customers, return items to warehouse for storage, reuse, disposal, etc.
• Shipping and receiving. Responsible for shipping and receiving to and from the main warehouses located in Loveland and Montrose, Colorado. This includes: Prepare appropriate shipping documents including but not limited to Government bills of lading and hazardous material manifests.
• Coordinate with customers and shippers. Follow up on shipment status. Identify required training by DOT, EPA, and OSHA for hazardous materials.
• Safely unload commercial and Government-owned vehicles. Inspect items received at the warehouse location. Inspection shall include, but not be limited to documenting actual receipt date and condition of received items or materials and verifying quantities. Compare item(s) received to purchasing documents.
• Notify Procurement and/or appropriate customers of suspected or identified discrepancies. Resolve discrepancies

Skills/Abilities
• Experience with Warehouse Forklift Scissor Lift, Man Lift Cable Winders Weighing Scales Engraver Floor Scrubber
• Ability to pass federal background check

Minimum Experience
High School/GED, 2-4 years of experience in field


Duties/Responsibilities

Receives, unloads and processes incoming shipments of
supplies, equipment and materials.

Determines docking area most convenient for off-loading
purposes and directs carrier to designated unloading point. Sees that equipment
is unloaded in proper sequence and designates placement of items for checking.

Selects and assembles items for shipment and issue. Matches
item identification on issue and shipping requests with that at stock location
and checks stock identification change lists to ensure that proper item is
selected.

Determines holding and dock areas most suitable for
assembling and loading shipment.

Determines within the general warehousing plan how to
organize and arrange stock in the storage area.

Stores items for maximum convenience of handing and ease of
movement, as well as protection from damage, deterioration and pilferage.

Decides, within the framework of the storage plan, when to
set up, shift, and place stock in new locations and how to consolidate and
arrange items to keep aisles and other traffic areas clear of obstructions.

Operates material handling equipment to include forklift
trucks up to 3500 pound capacity gasoline or electric engine driven, and
different types of pallet jacks to move, load/unload, transfer, transport and
stack/unstack goods, materials, supplies.

Operates trucks from 1 ton up to 4 1/2-tons with up to five
speeds and two driving wheels, and a gross vehicle weight of up to 21,500
pounds to transport articles and materials throughout the National Capital
Region, for long and short hauls.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - Business travel may be up to 10% of the
time.

  • 2+ years previous experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Fast paced, detail oriented, and quality driven to provide excellent service to our customers.
  • Schedule flexibility and ability to work frequent over time.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate Warehouse Management Systems or other comparable database systems and RF Scanning equipment.
  • Demonstrated and prior experience operating forklift equipment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Intermediate math and reading skills required, generally demonstrated through the acquisition of a High School Diploma.
  • Strong matching and identification skills required.
  • Ability to maintain high level of focus and attention to detail for prolonged periods of time is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to lift, bend, reach, push, pull, squat, stand and walk throughout an entire shift.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, generally an entire shift (8+ hours per day)

  • Schedule flexibility and ability to work frequent over time.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate Warehouse Management Systems or other comparable database systems and RF Scanning equipment.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness
determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

This position may require the completion of a pre-employment
Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the
continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform
the duties of the position.

The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess
or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S.
states or possessions to operate vehicles.

This position requires you to obtain and maintain a forklift
operating license.

This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and
random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and
testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
