SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Job description
Our Client is seeking to add a Senior Accountant to our team! If you are an independent thinker that would like to work in a dynamic and growing company, we would love to hear from you!
Responsibilities Include
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted amounts.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing and reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives. Identify trends, opportunities, and risks that may impact the organization's financial performance.
- Assist with tax planning and compliance activities, including the preparation of corporate tax returns and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Perform other job related functions as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team, with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects as needed
- Approachable and able to interact with staff at all levels in a rapidly changing environment
- Advanced with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Experience with Oracle ERP is a plus
