Construction Credit Collections Analyst

POSITION PURPOSE
Experienced credit specialist is responsible for conducting credit investigations on existing and potential customers to evaluate the credit risk. Review/manage credit limits and maintain lien/bond rights on a project specific basis. Manage open A/R balances and determine actions that need to be taken on delinquent accounts. Plan and maintain a program for systematic follow-up and collection of open receivables.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsibilities:
- Identify, gather, analyze, and interpret any and all types of relevant credit and financial information on existing and prospective customers.
- Review and resolve issues regarding contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions. Negotiate acceptable terms and conditions as needed with customers on a per order basis.
- Establish credit lines, negotiate payment terms and collect open balances for new and existing customers.
- Regularly review customer base to manage risk, and, where applicable, identify areas for potential sales growth.
- Work with customers to develop creative solutions for challenging or unique financing needs.
- Follow up on disputes in a timely manner and work with salespeople and customers to resolve.
- Work collaboratively with the sales organization.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The Senior Credit Analyst will report to the Credit Manager – North America. As part of the Credit Department, the Senior Credit
Analyst will be primarily responsible for a specific geographic region of the country.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Ability to make informed credit decisions via analysis of financials, payment history and credit reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively throughout the organization.
- Strong knowledge of business practices, time management and organizational skills.
- Able to maintain appropriate written and electronic documentation consistent with approved policy.
- Analytically minded with strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.
- 4 years of commercial credit experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Contract/business law or international credit experience is a plus.
- Construction Credit Preferred
- SAP ERP Experience preferred
