Position Overview

The Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial information, assessing credit risk, and providing recommendations that support decision-making across consumer, agricultural, and commercial portfolios. This role partners closely with internal teams and leadership to ensure consistent, data-driven decisions aligned with North Star’s standards.


What You’ll Do
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to assess risk
  • Prepare detailed credit presentations and recommendations for financing requests
  • Evaluate cash flow, debt service coverage, collateral, and overall financial strength
  • Monitor existing relationships and identify emerging risks
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to structure solutions that balance member needs with sound risk management
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support portfolio reporting, trend analysis, and overall credit quality reviews

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in credit analysis, financial services, or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and cash flow analysis
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data clearly
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities
