Job Description:

The Credit Analyst analyzes the long-term financial viability of potential clients by employing sophisticated financial analysis techniques and providing on-going portfolio analysis to monitor current client base. The position also requires the analyst to advance the sales department's understanding of each prospective client and existing clients' risk profile to increase efficiencies in sales development. Assisting the Account Receivables Dept based on client collections issues and opportunities is expected.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Analyze prospective clients using fundamental financial analysis techniques, including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow measurements as well as industry factors and portfolio concentration issues
  • Review and make appropriate decisions on business credit applications which meet acceptable underwriting standards and are compliant with company guidelines
  • Gather necessary documentation, conduct thorough due diligence to determine the suitability of loan requests, and prepare a detailed credit report summarizing the financial analysis, collateral position, and overall risk assessment including a recommendation for approval or denial
  • Apply quantitative concepts and processes in a judgmental environment to accurately assess risk and balance with expected profitability to the Company
  • Communicate credit decisions to relevant partners and effectively negotiate to "win" desired applications
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis and reporting
  • Establish scalable and efficient and automated processes for credit analysis and monitoring
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop financial reporting dashboards
  • Research, recommend approval/decline and monitor existing clients for additional exposure
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, annual credit reviews on existing clients based on the department's credit review procedures
  • Develop and foster relationships with the sales force
  • Maintain credit files and requests, track and analyze required financial information
  • Other duties assigned to ensure overall departmental efficiency

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance field, in conjunction with formal commercial credit training
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial credit analysis experience, preferably at a financial institution
  • Thorough knowledge of credit analysis and loan/lease documentation, and other facets of commercial credit, including knowledge of credit laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with relationship managers and other internal stakeholders to discuss credit assessments, provide insights, and collaborate on loan decisions
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel - Pivot Tables, Lookups)
  • Salesforce experience is a plus

JOB SPECIFICATIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work Environment: This hybrid position (3 days onsite) is in either Schaumburg, IL or Alpharetta, GA
  • Position Type/Standard Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday; 8a-5p
  • Travel: No travel is expected for this position
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly talk and hear, and use hands and fingers to operate call center tools

Pay Range:

$55,100-$77,100

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
