Outside Sales Representative Transportation and Logistics

JOB SUMMARY:

Serves customers by selling trucking and logistics services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Services existing accounts, obtains orders and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customer contacts.

· Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of products required

· Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential sales volumes.

· Submits quotes and orders by referring to approved CGL price lists or any approved special pricing lists.

· Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly territory analyses.

· Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, operations techniques, etc.

· Recommends changes in products, service and policy by conducting customer satisfaction surveys, benchmarking, evaluating results and competitive developments

· Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; establishing personal networks; participating in trade shows.

· Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.

· Partners with Project Coordinators and Operations Teams to provide customers with outstanding customer service on time and with the job done correctly.

Education and Experience:

· Three years of experience in Transportation and International shipping industry.  This is Required.  

· High school diploma

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Formal Sales and Marketing training

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Computer skills including research, E-mail, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel

· Demonstrated record of ability to attract and retain customer base.

· Current drivers license with clean DMV record.

Pay and Benefits:

· Base $45,000 to $75,000. Based on experience.

· Commissioned position.
