What would you do?

  • Coordinate inspections of employee tools and equipment to ensure that they are properly maintained and in safe working condition, inclusive of fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Coordinate the implementation and adherence to appropriate safety programs and protocols with the safety group.
  • Conduct/assist with Safety and other training sessions.
  • Conduct Safety audits.
  • Complete necessary vehicle, injury, and other event reports. Provide reports and all information necessary to the safety department in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Participate in incident investigations as necessary.
  • Process damage claims.
  • Schedule Work Orders to ensure that member’s needs are being met
  • Oversee internal and external crews to coordinate work to meet Service Delivery model
  • Plan workload (6-week window) and daily crew schedules.
  • Update vehicles and drivers in GPS Insight.
  • Handle member issues.
  • Provide occasional IT support.
  • Provide engineering support for the Distribution Designers.
  • Coordinate Power Quality & Reliability investigations – CEMI, feeder patrols & infrared worst performing feeders
  • Assist with the migration from a paper to a digital environment.
  • Participate in the Standards Committee.
  • Ensure accurate and timely closing of work orders.
  • Learn to utilize the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) – RNI, MDMS, Alerts and Alarms to extract reliability information such as overloaded equipment, high voltage areas, low voltage areas, areas with click counts, etc.
  • Coordinate the assignment of overloaded transformers with the Distribution Design Manager.
  • Assist System Engineering to implement studies that benefit the regions.
  • Learn and maintain uptodate knowledge of RUS engineering related bulletins and regulations, Cooperative policies and Service Rules and Regulations.
  • Review reliability reports from System Engineering and track and document completion of recommended actions.
  • Analyze reliability of electrical system and recommend remedial action as required for such power quality problems (e.g. frequent outages, momentary interruptions, high and low voltage issues, etc.)
  • Meet member needs as it relates to power quality such as stray voltage, large motor starting, harmonic distortion and flicker/blinks.
  • Coordinate special needs of large or complex customers including system design, metering, power quality and reliability.
  • Work collaboratively with System Engineers to adopt Company-wide standards, gain experience in Regional Operations, and share best practices.
  • Prepare Switching Procedures for region as needed. 
  • Be available after hours and during emergency situations.  In the absence of the Region Line Manager, acts in that capacity, with assistance from experienced Crew Leaders, to manage customer expectations.
  • Attend conferences and schools as requested by the Region Line Manager.
