At Brian Bittner Antiques, we take pride in keeping American history alive, and have done so for three generations. Antiques tell various stories of sentiment, craftsmanship, honor, and the history of our great country. It gives the collector the excitement of finding a rarity, adding to a collection, decorating a home, or browsing merchandise at an open market. Dealing in antiques takes a personality with passion for these stories and the people who tell them. We have an appetite for keeping these stories alive and a heightened sense of social responsibility for the artifacts we encounter.
Our Antiques Ops Manager will have diverse responsibilities that include running daily operations, maintaining a merchandise database, marketing, website maintenance, and managing a small staff. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for antiques/history and high skill level in communications, organization, planning, customer service, and management. We also expect a level of high integrity when handling our merchandise, the ability to take the ball and run with it, and an open mind to learn and advance themselves. JOB SUMMARY
Develop polices and procedures to ensure operations of the antique dealership run smoothly and efficiently. Manage staff members to yield maximum productivity. Manage inventory database. Coordinate and complete administrative responsibilities with accuracy and timeliness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications
§ Provide customer service skills to sellers who contact the business to sell merchandise in a timely and courteous manner.
§ Maintain website updates and social media marketing.
Inventory Management
§ Build and maintain database in Google Sheets to record merchandise type, description, value, seller/buyer, days on hand, physical location, etc.).
§ Oversee sales on eBay.
§ Assist in sales at antique shows and auctions (pricing, marketing, direct sales).
§ Photograph inventory for display on website and sharing with potential buyers.
Management
§ Supervise two employees to yield maximum performance, ensuring logical work flows and superior customer service.
§ Lead as a resource with up front, clear communications.
§ Provide regular feedback on performance to correct challenges and reward successes.
Administration
§ Complete payment processes for advertising expenditures.
§ Manage owner’s schedule and task list.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
§ Experience or interest in antiques
§ 2-3 years managerial experience
§ Computer savvy, experience with Google platform; eBay experience is a plus
§ Photography, website maintenance, and social media marketing experience is a plus
§ Willingness and eagerness to learn
§ Problem-solving skills
§ Organization and planning skills with attention to detail
§ Customer service skills and the capacity to be aware of, control and express emotions appropriately
§ Ability to work autonomously
§ Ability to motivate and inspire others
