Watson Security Group (WSG) is part of a national network of Kendell companies and a preeminent regional provider of mechanical and electronic security solutions. We are a full-service mechanical security company (locksmith) and we also provide electronic security solutions (access control, CCTV, intercom, alarm systems, and more). WSG has local offices in Seattle (2), Renton, and Tacoma. 

Watson will provide an equipped Mobile Service Unit (van) for providing full-service installation and service work in the field in the Seattle area.

Salary: $35-$45/hr

Hours: Standard business hours are 8am-5pm

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Technician specializing in mechanical and electronic security solutions to join our dynamic team. As a Field Tech, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced security systems, ensuring the safety and security of our clients' premises.

  • Execute on-site installation and configuration of mechanical and electronic security systems, including access control, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems.
  • Ensure proper integration and connectivity of security components for optimal functionality.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on security equipment to ensure ongoing performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime for clients.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns related to security solutions.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to end-users, both remotely and on-site.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, configurations, and service calls.
  • Generate comprehensive reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Train end-users on the proper usage and functionalities of security systems.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and updates in the field to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in security systems or electronics are a plus
  • EL06 Electrician License is preferred 
  • A good driving record and a good employment record are required. Applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment screening, which includes background and driver's record checks
  • Candidates must have Locksmithing experience including rekeying locks, cutting keys, installing and servicing locks, and other security hardware
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting access control systems, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems
  • Familiarity with networking principles and protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals effectively
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues
  • Proven experience as a Field Technician in the mechanical and electrical security industry
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in various environments
