Cultural Arts Summer Camp Counselor (part-time/seasonal, $15.00/hour)

Elevate your summer with us as a Cultural Arts Camp Counselor at Schaumburg Park District, where you'll guide campers aged 5 to 18 through an unforgettable journey of self-expression and discovery! We're seeking dynamic individuals who are ready to inspire, engage, and make a lasting impact in the lives of our campers.

JOB SUMMARY: You'll plan and lead activities in our visual and performing arts camps that help campers explore different skills and express themselves.

Our counselors create a welcoming environment where campers feel comfortable trying new things and working together. They supervise campers during activities and outings to ensure their safety and collaborate with fellow counselors and camp leaders to facilitate a safe and successful camp week. Our camp counselors always lead by example when showing campers how to be respectful, inclusive, and open-minded towards people from all backgrounds.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates must be enthusiastic about working with children. Must have the ability to help run and plan a wide range of activities and programs throughout the Summer. Experience in childcare or a camp setting is beneficial. Ideal candidates have a flexible attitude; adapting easily to changing situations and ready to pitch in wherever help is needed. Must be dependable, outgoing, enjoy working with children, and possess great communication skills. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp and have reliable means of transportation to and from the job site.

SCHEDULING & PAY: These are part-time, seasonal positions which run late May through August (approximately 12-25 hours per week / primarily during the weekdays between 8:30am and 4pm). Pay is $15 per hour DOQ (depending on qualifications).
