Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking for a Stamping Operator for a machine shop client located in Clackamas, Oregon who specializes in custom manufacturing.

Monday - Thursday
Fridays are optional overtime
6:00am - 4:30pm
$22 - $28 depending on skill set.
Position Summary:
Set up, operate and tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend or straighten metal.
Essential Functions:
Perform typical press operations, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Start machines, monitor operations, and record operational data.
Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to department supervisor.
Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required. Clean and lubricate machines.
Maintain work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform the following tasks: form, draw, coin, inspect, and tumble.
Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
Demonstrate continuous improvement of process (scrap reduction, productivity improvements, etc.).
Controlling Machines and Processes - Use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines and monitor processes.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies.
Ability to perform basic set-ups on machines and the tools that are used in them.
Must be familiar with all the machines required to perform the tasks stated above.
Use of inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
Meet physical demands of position including long periods of standing, sitting, lifting and bending.
Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.
Working knowledge of raw materials.
Understanding of quality systems and standards.
Quantity – meets productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
Quality Control – demonstrate a high level of accuracy and thoroughness, monitor own work to ensure quality and apply feedback.
Safety and Security – observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.
Attention to detail, applying thoroughness and thoughtfulness to all work.
Knowledge of company’s policies and procedures.
Ethics – work with integrity and confidentiality, uphold organizational values, and follow through on commitments.
Ability to work and excel in a schedule-driven environment.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of high school education and 3 years factory related experience in a press environment.
