Job Title: Director of Connected Support

Reports To: VP Product Support

Department: Parts, Exempt

Location: Atlanta,GA or Riverview, FL


Summary of Primary Functions:

Dobbs Equipment is looking for a Director of Connected Support. This position will be responsible for driving sales growth, market expansion, team development, implementing innovative solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Proactive Customer Engagement: Initiate regular communication with customers to understand their product support needs, offer solutions, and provide exceptional proactive solutions through connected support.
  • Customized Sales Solutions: Tailor parts packages and solutions to individual customer requirements, ensuring value and satisfaction.
  • Certified Rebuild Program: Identify opportunities with existing customers to grow for certified rebuilds.
  • Market Expansion: Continuously explore new markets and untapped customer segments to expand your reach. Proactive Machine Monitoring, Fleet management through JDLink and customer service advisor.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics and market research to inform sales strategies and drive growth.
  • Provide leadership, vision and direction to the team
  • Oversee Connected Support strategies and performance
  • Collaborate with other departments to align goals and objectives
  • Build and maintain the John Deere Protect/TM&R management process and program
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and objectives
  • Identify opportunities for incremental parts sales and manage customer parts portal
  • Address customer concerns and gather feedback to improve services
  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform sales strategies
  • Monetize the highest level of product support.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Parts experience
  • Sales experience

Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain management, or 10 years related field experience.
  • Proven experience in parts and sales management, preferably within the construction equipment or automotive industry.
  • In-depth understanding of parts inventory processes, supply chain management, and industry trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess inventory data and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory records and order processing.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment:

While performing the functions of this job, the employee regularly works in a service field setting and is exposed to frequently changing temperatures, wet or humid conditions, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, dust, and close proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to:

  • Ability to work using Personal Protective Equipment, including respirators, welding shields, hard hats, vests, safety glasses, goggles, gloves and etc.
  • Ability to use full range of motion for back, arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Able to use full range of motion for both legs, including climbing, twisting, squatting, and pushing with both legs.
  • Able to use hand tools, fuel hoses, lubrication systems on all equipment
  • Able to climb onto or down from mobile construction equipment, typically 3-4 feet of climbing, for service and inspection.
  • The employee is frequently required to lift or carry loads greater than 50 lbs but less than 75 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear at moderate noise levels.
