One of Kansas City's most respected law firms is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to add to its team. The Paralegal will provide assistance to attorneys in legal research and discovery, document preparation and production, case management, witness & trial preparation, and overall client service.
Responsibilities of the Paralegal include:
- Request records - medical, itemized billing, law enforcement, and governmental
- Assist in preparation of plaintiff's discovery requests
- Review defendant's discovery responses and identify areas of concern or special request
- Secure case evidence and assist with chain of custody documentation
- Review lien summaries
- Assist with gathering of documents to be used in deposition exhibits
- Prepare exhibits for trial
Requirements:
- 4+ years of litigation experience required.
- Plaintiff personal injury experience strongly preferred.
- Associate's degree required - Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with clients and employees at all times.
- Ability to prioritize workflow and manage time.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
