Job Description
Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer applies knowledge and skills concerned with all primary aircraft systems critical to the performance of the aircraft, and flows down contractual requirements to ensure the product conforms to its intended form, fit, and function. Determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications and plans the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to HCOA approved Operation Procedures, Quality Conformance, Testing, and Technical Data or Directive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Manufacturing Engineer I:
  • Provide their internal customers with correct products and services, on-time.
  • Create, communicate, and accomplish daily department schedules.
  • Retain part traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Utilize Cetec ERP to keep program data current.
  • Full and complete understanding of HWI 42301-1 series and all other pertinent HCOA Operation Procedures or Work Instructions.
  • Review's customer supplied data packages, specifications, internal processes, and quality requirements for manufacturing compliance.
  • Compose part specific manufacturing instructions including material usage, process requirements, manufacturing method guidance, and labor time estimation.
  • Works directly with other departments via an ERP system to ensure effective material resource planning.
  • Provides production team support to address any issues, nonconformances, and technical data interpretation.
  • Performs manufacturing process reviews by studying product requirements; applying knowledge of fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Produces technical data as necessary to assist with manufacturing including 2D reference drawings and cut files for 2D machining.
  • All other duties as assigned
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Manufacturing Engineer II:
  • Can independently perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed above
  • Produces technical data as necessary to assist with manufacturing, including 3D CAD Files, Mylars, Shop Aides, Dimensioned Drawings, and any other applicable media.
  • Works with production to develop necessary tooling including forms tooling and medium complexity bond fixtures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Manufacturing Engineer III:
  • Can independently perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
  • Provides training and oversight to Manufacturing Engineers I and II.
  • Works directly with external customers when necessary to field technical concerns.
  • Works with production to develop necessary tooling from authority datasets, including complex contoured drill and bond fixtures.
  • Serve as engineering support for investigation of CARs and PQDRs.
Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Engineering or equivalent from a college or university
  • 4 years' engineering experience
  • Product Development (Build Methods, Control Tooling and Technical Data Management)
  • CAD Familiarity (Basic Solidworks Navigation, Minor DXF Manipulation)
  • Broad knowledge and comprehension of technical data and drawings
  • Aerospace or defense contract experience (preferred)
  • Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass the Defense National Agency Check IAW DoDD 5200.2

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to telephone, mouse, and keyboard. The ability to communicate and exchange accurate information so others will understand is required. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
