Job Summary

With the tax season behind you, are you ready for a change? Magone & Company, PC is looking for talented Tax Preparers as we expand our Tax Team in our Morris and Bergen County offices.

We will prefer a licensed CPA or EA with at least 2 year of public accounting experience, and at least 3-5 years in tax accounting. If you have solid experience preparing business and complex individual tax returns, you'll want to talk to us.

Responsibilities

Prepare and file tax returns for individuals, businesses and organizations in compliance with tax laws and regulations
Analyze financial data and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness for tax reporting
Conduct tax research and stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations
Assist in tax planning and provide recommendations to minimize tax liabilities
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary information for tax filings
Respond to tax authorities' inquiries and assist in tax audits
Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation

Required Qualifications

Degree in Accounting
Licensed EA or CPA (or seeking licensure) preferred
3-5 years of experience in tax accounting
2+ years working in a CPA firm.
Experience with Thomson Reuters and CCH is a plus
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and analytical skills, and attention to detail
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
