SUMMARY:

Provides outstanding customer service in the Food Service operation. Manages customer orders, data entry, researches and resolves customer problems, including order discrepancies. Responds to customer inquiries promptly and with a sense of urgency with respect to delivery, quantity and quality issues. Oversees customer orders, monitors on time delivery and customer satisfaction. Acts as an integral part of the Food Service team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinates customer service function for all Food Service operations.
    1. Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
    2. Resolves known issues to customers’ satisfaction with regard to delivery, quantity and timeframe of fulfillment.
    3. Tracks and investigates any order discrepancies that are found internally or brought to our attention by customers. Assist in the corrective actions on these findings to insure complete customer satisfaction.
    4. Manages and responds to customer demands promptly (telephone calls, emails, faxes, etc.) using optimal customer-oriented etiquette.
    5. Addresses customer issues, assuring that service levels and objectives are met.
    6. Greets callers, establishes rapport, and projects professional tone within established service standards.
    7. Schedules and places follow-up calls/emails in response to customer inquiries with no supervision.
    8. Confers with drivers and or Associate Carriers personnel to expedite and/or trace missing or delayed shipments.
    9. Tracks all customer service inquiries.
    10. Attend meetings with MCOFA
    11. Cover for when Manager is not on premises.
    12. Level 1 Serve Safe certification.
    13. Responsible for department cell phone.
  2. Assumes responsibility for all customer orders.
    1. Generates monthly Charter School and daycare menus.
    2. Takes responsible for order entry of the Daycare and senior daily meal counts using appropriate software.
    3. Follows through with all catering orders.
    4. Invoices internal and external billing.
    5. Cashier in The Loop
  3. Contributes to the overall effectiveness of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes by completing all other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Associate's Degree in Food Service. Two years of related experience.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with suppliers, customers and all levels of employees in both face‑to‑face or telephone situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Effective, professional interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers, primarily MS Office applications.
  • Flexible, adaptable and open to change.
  • Ability to interact well in a team environment.
  • Self-motivating and dependable.
  • Ability to multitask.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to gather and interpret statistical data. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions.

Must have the ability to make suggestions for improvement in job completion and customer satisfaction.

LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

Must have ability to coach others to coordinate efforts as a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be reasonably mobile. The employee must have the use of hands and arms, and be able to work in a variety of situations.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include

distance vision and depth perception.
