Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to develop and maintain SCADA/MES systems.
The ideal candidate must be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and understand the needs of end-users.
They should be able to implement SCADA/MES changes to meet those needs and provide plant support for SCADA/MES systems, including PLC Logic.
Additionally, the position will participate in test and pilot runs of new and improved products and evaluate their results.
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and implement SCADA & MES programming while working with a cross-functional team.
The candidate must also develop the Human Machine Interface screens (HMI) and provide expertise in data historian administration, database queries, data historian content, validation, and report design.
They should design and interface additional data sources with Historian, administer and maintain the SCADA & MES systems, and ensure adherence to company standards on all projects.
The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated ability to develop and support object-oriented programming for SCADA applications and competently troubleshoot SCADA systems, HMIs, Data Historians, etc. (iFix and iHistorian preferably).
They should have experience in a high-level programming language (C#, Visual Basic, Python, etc.), the ability to analyze and interface with PLCs and other automation systems, and an understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC DA/UA, and Ethernet/IP.
The candidate should also have general computer knowledge and proficiency and experience with programming languages such as MSSQL, VB, HTML, and PLC Logic (EcoStruxure Control expert highly desirable).
The position requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, strategic planning and organizational skills, and the ability to provide data-driven results to lead and influence decisions.
The ideal candidate should be highly ambitious and motivated for success, solutions-oriented, results-driven, and a self-starter.
They should be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, have regular and punctual attendance, and act as a backup to support and cover various areas of the department as needed.
The candidate should have a minimum of 2 or more years of development and support of SCADA systems and/or industrial controls networks, preferably utilizing iFix.
A bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent discipline is preferred.
However, a 2-year technical degree in an area such as SCADA or Electrical Mechanical will also be considered. The position is in the Engineering department.
