Position Summary

The Scada Manager will be responsible for integrating, maintaining, and optimizing the technological systems that support both the systems that monitor and control utility-scale plants with corporate IT infrastructure and field operational systems within renewable energy generation plants (solar, wind, etc.). The role blends technical expertise in automation and controls with project management, ensuring reliable plant performance, compliance, and integration with energy storage or grid systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage SCADA systems for energy power plants, including design, configuration, commissioning, and ongoing operations. Oversee real-time monitoring of plant performance, alarms, and remote operations to maximize uptime and efficiency
  • Integration of new renewable assets and facilities into the company’s technological ecosystem. Ensure SCADA systems interface smoothly with inverters, substations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and grid operators.
  • Supervise, maintain and update SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs, Relays, RTAC, and other industrial automation devices.
  • Lead the design and configuration of SCADA control rooms.
  • Ensure all SCADA assets, networks, and processes comply with NERC CIP standard.
  • Manage corporate networks, servers, backup systems, and cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with the technical support team to ensure the continuous availability of IT systems. Implement software solutions for asset management, maintenance, and data analytics.
  • Oversee both cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure supporting enterprise applications.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for SCADA system failures or anomalies.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to enhance process efficiency.
  • Design secure network architectures connecting IT and OT systems without compromising security.
  • Partner with technology vendors and engineering teams to develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Travel required 10-20%
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Automation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Scada environments, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC, DNP3, etc.) and SCADA systems.
  • Proven experience in industrial cybersecurity and network management.
  • Familiarity with U.S. cybersecurity standards, including at least: NIST SP 800-82, ISA 99 / IEC 62443, NERC CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation – Critical Infrastructure Protection), and ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Experience with high availability architectures and disaster recovery planning.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
