Job Summary
 
We are seeking an experienced SCADA Developer with strong expertise in Energy Management Systems (EMS) and hands-on experience with Reliance SCADA solutions. This is a senior-level developer role requiring an individual with SME (Subject Matter Expert) level knowledge in designing, developing, configuring, and supporting enterprise SCADA/EMS applications for utility and power systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing and enhancing SCADA applications, integrating real-time data sources, and supporting transmission and distribution operations. This is a developer position, not an analyst role.
 
Required Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in SCADA/EMS application development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Reliance EMS/SCADA platform.
  • SME-level knowledge of SCADA architecture, configuration, and application development.
  • Experience working with electric utilities, transmission, or distribution systems.
  • Proven experience developing and customizing SCADA applications in production environments.
  • Experience with real-time systems and high-availability architectures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain GE Reliance SCADA/EMS applications.
  • Develop and customize SCADA displays, graphics, alarms, trends, and control logic.
  • Configure real-time telemetry points and communication interfaces.
  • Integrate SCADA with substations, RTUs, IEDs, and enterprise applications.
  • Develop and maintain EMS functionalities supporting grid operations.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Participate in software upgrades, migrations, and new feature implementations.
  • Collaborate with utility operations, engineering, and infrastructure teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electric utility operations.
  • Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance.
  • Experience with transmission or distribution management systems.
  • Familiarity with EMS network applications such as State Estimation, AGC, or Contingency Analysis.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
