Position Summary

The SCADA Lead serves as the technical authority for Delta Utilities' Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) environment, ensuring the reliability, security, availability, and long-term sustainability of the enterprise SCADA platform. This individual is responsible for the architecture, administration, lifecycle management, disaster recovery, operational support, and continuous improvement of the SCADA environment supporting natural gas transmission, distribution, storage, measurement, and field operations. The SCADA Lead provides technical leadership for the SCADA platform, establishes engineering standards, leads modernization initiatives, and serves as the primary technical liaison with software vendors, system integrators, and internal stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

SCADA Platform Leadership

  • Serve as the technical owner of the enterprise SCADA platform.
  • Develop and maintain the technical roadmap for the SCADA environment.
  • Lead platform modernization, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish engineering standards, configuration management, and documentation.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.

System Reliability & Operations

  • Ensure 24x7 availability and reliability of the SCADA platform.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical incidents.
  • Coordinate restoration efforts during outages.
  • Implement proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • Establish operational support procedures and performance metrics.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Develop and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
  • Execute disaster recovery and failover testing.
  • Maintain recovery documentation and procedures.
  • Improve system resiliency and recovery capabilities.
  • Support emergency response and business continuity planning.

SCADA Engineering

Preferred Qualifications
