ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, program, and commission of substation SCADA system
  • Assist in developing plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments
  • Review network and communication design drawings
  • Design SCADA communication related drawings
  • Supervise and/or mentor junior engineers
  • Travel required including potential international travel to job sites for on site commissioning support

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Experience with RTU and IED and PLC technologies
  • Experience with SEL Automation product 
  • Experience with wind collector design is preferred
  • Experience with power system studies is preferred
  • Experience with industrial communication protocol, such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, DNP3.0, Ethernet/IP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and make recommendations
  • Knowledge of electric grid energy management systems or similar for the purpose of configuring and engineering SCADA systems used for electric grid monitoring, protection and control
  • Ability to perform effectively in high pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness
  • Experience with commissioning and/or field engineering time a plus
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. A combination of education and work experience may also be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of substation SCADA engineering experience
