Job Description

An IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They ensure that IT systems and networks within an organization are functioning smoothly and securely to support the business's operations.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Building and Maintaining Intune Profiles: Develop and maintain management profiles in Microsoft Intune, ensuring configurations meet company standards and security policies. This includes creating device compliance policies and configuring device features and settings.
  • Packaging and Updating Intune Deployed Software and Applications: Configure applications for deployment via Intune and maintain current versions of current software.
  • Intune Device Enrollment: Oversee and streamline the enrollment process of various devices into Intune. This involves setting up enrollment policies and assisting with bulk device enrollments or troubleshooting individual device enrollment issues. Include the platforms we use (MacOS, Android, Windows, IOS). Knowledge of Azure Cloud CLI and Powershell scripting.
  • Managing the Azure and M365 Environments: Collaborate with the IT support Manager to administer, optimize, and monitor the Azure and M365 environments, managing aspects such as user identities, roles, and permissions to ensure secure and efficient operation.
  • Auditing Network Configurations: Regularly audit and review Fortinet network configurations to ensure they comply with the latest security standards and company policies. This may also involve configuring new solutions and maintaining firewalls, VPNs, and other network security systems. Optimize wireless connectivity throughout our org.
  • Azure Security Management: Collaborate with the IT Support team to implement and monitor security measures within Azure, including configuring security policies, managing threat protection services, and ensuring all Azure deployments comply with security standards.
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP): Collaborate with the IT Support team to develop, implement, and manage DLP policies to protect sensitive information across all systems. Monitor data handling and storage, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory data protection requirements.
  • IT Management and Security Oversight: Collaborate with IT leadership to develop IT security strategies, including the management of security infrastructures, conducting security assessments, and coordinating responses to security incidents.
  • Ensuring Quality End User Experience: Actively engage with end users to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues. This includes monitoring system performance, gathering user feedback, and making necessary adjustments to improve usability and functionality.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of processes, configurations, and changes. Provide regular reports on system status, user feedback, and security audits to inform strategic IT decisions.
  • Continuous Learning and Updating: Stay updated with new features and best practices for Intune, Azure, and Fortinet systems. Implement new technologies and updates to enhance system management and security.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role with hands-on experience in cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of network technologies, database security, and encryption technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), CompTIA Security+, or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
  • Experience with DevOps environments and automation tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
  • The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
