Reports to: Plant Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician at our North Indy mine. Preventative maintenance and repairs to the plant and mobile equipment mechanics are in this classification.

Essential Functions

Accountable to perform all of the maintenance duties required by this position.
Maintain an excellent work/safety record of with high standard of performance and production
Perform simple and intermediate type diagnosis repairs without constant supervision
Cut and weld basic work, which has been laid out for him/her
Perform thorough preventative maintenance on all equipment
Assist other mechanics as needed
Maintain a positive attitude
Able to logically work through problems to solution
Able to read and write and communicate effectively
Able to work flexible work schedule
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Work Environment

Must be able to work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry, underground and heights.
Some exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.
Lift objects of various dimensions and weights
Ability to operate hand controls with both hands
Ability to operate foot pedals with both feet
Ability to perform sustained overhead reaching
Ability to use vibration tools
Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather
Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels
Ability to work in cramped quarters
Ability to tolerate working at heights up to 100 feet
Vision: Normal depth perception, vision and ability to distinguish color

Travel

Occasional travel will be required.

Required Education and Experience

3 years’ experience in related heavy duty maintenance job or equivalent combination of training and experience
