Responsibilities
- Maintain operation of the tote system during production shifts
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on plant and recycling equipment
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical and equipment issues
- Monitor equipment for proper operation and identify potential problems
- Recognize and understand equipment safety shutoffs and devices
- Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures
- Operate a forklift
- Safely and efficiently use hand and power tools
- Complete work orders and assigned maintenance paperwork
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and company policies
- Climb ladders and access catwalks as needed
- Assist with general plant maintenance and repairs
Experience & Qualifications
- Basic mechanical experience and mechanical aptitude required
- Experience working with hand and power tools
- Industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or production experience preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to perform basic math, including addition and subtraction
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good time-management and organizational skills
- Strong awareness of workplace and equipment safety
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to approximately 4 feet in height
- Comfortable climbing ladders and walking on catwalks
- Ability to work safely in an active recycling and production environment
