This full-time CT Supervisor position has a schedule that varies/includes weekends and is located at Huntington Hill Imaging Center - Pasadena! Occasional coverage will be needed for our other outpatient locations.
The Schedule is:
Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm
A variable schedule and occasional weekend coverage is also needed.
Pay Range: $43/hour - $50/hour
Some of the Duties Include the Following:
The Computed Tomography (CT) Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that their department staff are properly trained, providing excellent patient care utilizing the company's customer service models, producing quality images, and following established policies and procedures. The CT Supervisor also supports the managers, directors, and radiologists with implementing and ensuring proper protocols for the CT department.
What You Will Do:
Supervisory
- Manages the CT department in accordance with policies and procedures set by California Medical Business Services (CMBS) in conjunction with appropriated state and federal regulations.
- Establishes and implements departmental policies and procedures with the center manager and/or radiologist. Make recommendations for improvements. Follows company policies and guidelines.
- Maintains and implements quality and safety protocols regarding patient care, exam procedures and equipment throughout the department. Makes recommendations for improvement. Ensures that all staff follow the quality and safety guidelines for the department.
- Responsible for creating and updating protocols per radiologist instructions.
- Trains CT Technologists on procedures/changes as directed by radiologist.
- Trains and supervises students rotating from accredited schools (usually one student per year).
- Assists and guides CT department employees with emergencies during the shift.
- Participates in selecting and hiring of CT technologists. Provides new-hire orientation and initial training for new technologists as well as ongoing in-service training for all department staff as deemed appropriate by regular analyses.
- Assigns work and supervises daily operations of CT areas. Acts as a resource for specialized or complicated procedures. Reviews schedules for complicated cases and reviews them with the radiologist.
- Creates a monthly department schedule, which may involve rotation of staff to multiple facilities.
- Responsible for staffing the CT department adequately and encourages technologists efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure accuracy of employee timesheets in the department.
- Ensures that CT technologists complete required training courses.
- Responsible for maintaining technologists licensing and CME documentation and report provided copies to Imaging Center Manager.
- Completes performance evaluations as well as written and verbal counseling of CT technologists. When necessary, recommends disciplinary action with final approval at level of the Clinical Operations Director and Human Resources Director.
- Ensures that equipment is maintained and operating properly. Orders supplies for the department. Documents malfunctions; schedules preventative maintenance, service, and annual physicist testing for the equipment as appropriate.
- Responsible for ACR accreditation for department (if applicable).
- Conducts safety trainings for department meetings (as requested).
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations as required.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Must exercise good and sound judgment and plan and accomplish goals.
- Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Works closely with Radiologist and referring physicians.
- Keeps managers and directors abreast of department potential issues or escalated issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Technologist
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Performs CT procedures, obtains patient history, prepares patient for the exams, performs venipuncture for the administration of IV contrast, provides patient education regarding the exam, ensures patient cooperation and safety during the study, monitors patient for adverse reaction to IV contrast
- Coordinates patient flow.
- Makes certain that appropriate indications are present for the CT procedures ordered, and that contraindications to contrast are explored.
- Follows policies concerning quality assurance.
- Satisfactorily meets work performance expectations as stated in the policy personnel, technologist evaluation.
- Assists office staff with scheduling patients and preparing and maintaining patient records.
- Maintains the appropriate amount of continuing medical education units set forth by the ARRT.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Keeps CT suite clean, stocked and prepared for all procedures.
- Completes paperwork and billing functions.
- Requests and order supplies as needed.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience or equivalent.
- At least three years of experience as CT Technologist in clinic environment. Must have experience in acute care setting.
- Required certifications in ARRT (CT), CRT, and Venipuncture.
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License.
- Must be CPR certified.
- Basic understanding of insurance, both Commercial and Managed Care.
- Familiarity with ACR guidelines.
- Familiarity with PACS systems – DR Systems preferred.
What Your Work Environment Will Be Like:
Work is performed primarily in the CT area with extensive contact with individuals and frequent interruptions.
Physical Requirements:
The employee may be exposed to radiation, blood/body fluids and/or infectious disease.
More than 50% of the time:
