Job Title: Lead DevOps/Cloud Engineer


Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team and to spearhead our DevOps initiatives and drive efficiency, scalability, and reliability across our software development lifecycle. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Cloud infrastructure while leading a team of talented DevOps engineers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, an exceptional DevOps and Cloud Engineering skills set, and the ability to lead a team to successful project completion and feature delivery.

  • Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive DevOps strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Breaks down DevOps related feature requests into user stories for use in team and program-based agile planning.
  • Emphasize and ensure the effective execution of organized sprints and agile methodologies. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan, prioritize, and execute sprints and releases efficiently.
  • Design and architect cloud solutions that meet scalability, performance, and security requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Actively promote DevOps Culture across the Engineering and Product teams.
  • Oversee the implementation of cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications for cloud environments.
  • Implement robust monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and system failures.
  • Conduct hands-on code reviews to ensure code quality, best practices, and adherence to established coding standards. Provide constructive feedback to team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes for scalable and efficient application deployment and management.
  • Ensure the security of infrastructure and applications by implementing best practices, security controls, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure operational excellence.
  • Hands on configuration and troubleshooting of Cloud Platforms and Services
  • Carries out responsibilities in a manner consistent with our values and operating principles, in accordance with policy and applicable laws, and with a commitment to commitment to continuous improvement and process excellence.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

Required Knowledge/Skills:


  • Deep expertise building, deploying, monitoring, and scaling workloads in AWS.
  • Expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code including creating and maintaining modules.
  • Expertise with CI/CD tooling and creating pipelines to support the full software development.
  • Expertise with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in cloud security practices and compliance standards.
  • Experience automating toil automating toil out of day-to-day workflows.
  • Ability to communicate and document technical details.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and compliance standards.
  • Strong scripting experience in Python, Powershell, Bash, or other scripting language
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and leading Agile teams.
  • Ability to analyze information and make logical recommendations.
  • Linux System Administration.

Desired Skills:


  • Experience working for a bank or in another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience working with offshore resources in EMEA.
  • Experience working with Spacelift or other Terraform Automation and Control tools.
  • Experience working with New Relic or other SAAS monitoring platforms.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, Github Actions, or other CICD Tooling
  • Experience working with CloudFlare.
  • Experience working with Ansible or other configuration as code tools.
  • Experience with repository and artifact management.
  • Governance as Code and Policy as Code experience.
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies is desirable.

Desired Experiences:


  • 8+ years of experience in Development, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering or other relevant role
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
