Data Manager

The Data Manager will provide data entry, analysis, and reports for internal and external data platforms for Bayview Hunters Point Foundation. The position will be an essential member of the Compliance/QA team, as BVHPF implements its first comprehensive electronic health records system. This is an exempt position, reporting to the Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance.

Bayview Hunters Point Foundation has been at the heart of social justice for over 50 years, providing support services for predominantly low-income people of color in the Bayview and throughout San Francisco.


Our mission is to build a community that is empowered, clean, safe, and healthy. We are focused on multidisciplinary, community-informed support for our clients, addressing the root causes of unemployment and homelessness, and advocating for the basic human rights of food, health, economic and housing security.


Today, BVHPF’s nearly 175 employees serve over 1,000 clients each year at several sites. Our programs include:


• Mental health counseling for youth and adults

• School-based mental health services

• Substance abuse counseling and methadone treatment

• Family transitional and supportive housing

• Rapid rehousing and flex pool housing programs

• Case management services at several homeless and housing programs

• Bayview SAFE Navigation Center

• Food security services


These programs are funded through several contracts with the City & County of San Francisco, and are monitored and regulated by several authorities, including CCSF and the State and Federal government.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enter data into the agency EHR, and train and support practitioners to enter data into CCSF data platforms.

• Create and implement policies and procedures related to data security and integrity.

• Draft training documentation and guidelines for managers and end users.

• Protect data by developing data security and restoration policies, procedures, and controls.

• Conduct diagnostic tests and evaluate performance metrics.

• Develop procedures to ensure data integrity and quality.

• Prepare data reports and analysis as needed.

• Keep up to date with developments and trends in database management.

• Other duties as assigned.


Requirements and Experience:

• Experience in data entry and reporting, preferably in a community nonprofit or government setting.

• Knowledge of best practices in database management.

• Advanced analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; Associate degree or equivalent required.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work well with diverse staff and clientele.

• Ability to speak, read, and write clearly in English.

• Ability to successfully complete tasks in an environment with background noise and interruptions.

• At least two COVID-19 vaccinations preferred.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Able to meet federal, state and local standards following a comprehensive background screening.
