Senior Consultant ARC Flash

TÜV SÜD GRC, a global leader in property loss control, has an immediate opening for a Senior Consultant ARC Flash, in a remote position. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site electrical system assessments to document existing system configuration, equipment ratings, conductor lengths and ampacities, and overcurrent protective device information
• Installation of arc flash labels

Secondary Responsibilities:

•  Assist with power system studies including arc flash studies, short circuit coordination studies, and fault current studies
• Assist with the development of arc flash reports (deliverables include arc flash labels, single-line diagrams, and recommendations to reduce incident energy)
• Willing to learn SKM Power Tools and AutoCAD

 Education and/or Experience:

• Licensed electrician with a minimum 2 years work experience in industrial/commercial electrical power systems, OR
• Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology with a minimum 2 years work experience in industrial/commercial electrical power systems, OR
• High school diploma with a minimum 5 years work experience in industrial/commercial electrical power systems, OR
• Military training and certification in the electrical field with related work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must possess knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and OSHA requirements in relation to arc flash and electrical distribution
• Must have the ability to understand installed electrical distribution systems, electrical schematic diagrams, and engineering documentation.
• Self-directed and able to solve problems in the field with no supervision
•  Ability to interface with customers including maintenance, safety, and plant engineering personnel; as well as with upper levels of management
•  Must be proficient in the generation of technical reports including recommendations to clients
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience using SKM Power Tools and AutoCAD desired but not required
• Certified NFPA70E training is a plus

Required Travel:

• 60 - 80% US based, overnight travel and on-site field work is required
• Valid driver's license
