Job Description

The role of the Children’s Ministry Assistant is to assist the Children’s Pastor in providing vibrant and inviting programming that reflects the love of Christ and enables children and their families to grow in faith and maturity through educational ministries. The successful candidate will work with the Children’s Pastor to plan and implement programming for the children and families of Church at the Cross and the community.

Contribute to the advancement of the ministry area.

Job Responsibilities

Create a safe, positive learning environment for each child.
Assist planning and prepping curriculum used in the children’s programming.
Help recruit and coordinate scheduling of new volunteers.
Manage attendance rosters, leaders' communication, and requests for Children’s Pastor.
Use the church software for scheduling events and check-in of all Children’s Ministry related events.
Assist in planning and organizing seasonal events and programs including VBS, Outreach, parties, and activities.
Build positive and supportive relationships with families.
Develop and maintain communication with families through available platforms including weekly newsletters.
Foster a culture of connection and follow up with families in the ministry areas assigned.
Research family ministry resources, collaborate with Children’s Pastor and update resource wall as needed.
Communicate facility and ministry needs to appropriate areas.
Ensure all financial reports and budgets are monitored and reported on time.
Manage calendar and calendar requests.
Meet weekly with the Children’s Pastor to ensure duties are completed.
Serve as representative and support of the Children’s Ministry area in meetings and duties.
Dream and implement future ministry opportunities within the Children’s Ministry.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Children’s Pastor
