TSG has partnered with an established industrial machinery company who is currently looking for an Accounts Receivable Accountant at their Carlsbad, CA manufacturing plant. This person will work closely with the Staff Accountant and Controller, while collaborating frequently with Sales and Shipping/Receiving teams to ensure accurate accounting and analysis.
The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for the AR process including collecting, tracking, and posting payments, managing reports and documentation, managing customer account status, aging, and collections. A candidate with a strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy that thrives in a fast-paced environment will make an excellent fit.
Accounts Receivable Accountant
Temp to hire, Carlsbad, CA 92008
Pay rate: $24-29/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for entering checks, ACH, and wire payments from company bank account into accounting software daily.
- Assist Controller in review of new and existing customers to establish credit terms, credit line increases, decreases, or termination of credit due to poor payment history.
- Manage company accounts receivable (AR) and collections for customers and communicate data to Controller as needed.
- Communicate with various departments including Project Management, Sales, and Operations, to obtain information about the status of customer jobs.
- Make collection calls and generate necessary correspondence for all overdue accounts.
- Create Journal Entries in accounting software to correct AR and cash GL balances.
- Reconcile customer accounts in a timely manner to ensure credits and payments are applied correctly.
- Prepare job reconciliations and reports for customers, project managers, and sales team as needed.
- Compile documentation to support transactions during audits by internal and external parties.
- Participate in weekly AR updates with Controller on customer accounts and aging.
- Reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Review and disseminate mail to HR and Controller.

- Assist HR in the management of the front desk.
- Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities that may be assigned at any time.
What you need:
- Degree or certification in Accounting/Finance or equivalent level of experience required.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and fair credit practices.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
- Deadline-oriented, able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
