CMV Safety Technician

What you need to know

• Hourly Pay Range $30.04-$35.07
• Monday – Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week
• Full Time, Temporary Assignment (3-4 months)
• Located in Mesa

What you’ll be doing

This position will conduct training related to the safe operations of CMVs.

You will be responsible for…

• Conducting CMV Entry Level Driving Training (ELDT) and other CMV safety-related training.
• Assist with implementing and managing citywide CMV safety programs.
• Assist in developing procedures and guidelines.
• Monitor OSHA, DOT, and other governmental regulations related to CMV safety, including DOT FMCSA and PHMSA regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

• Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or Risk Management or closely related field.
• Experience (3-5 years) operating a Class A commercial motor vehicle.
• Experience (1-3 years) with DOT or OSHA regulation compliance training or facilitating CMV classroom and/or behind the wheel training.
• Experience evaluating and implementing general safety training programs.
• Must possess a valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement and without air brake restrictions.
