Location/Office:
Buffalo, NY (CAI has a hybrid work schedule of working 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Manager works under the direction of the Project Director and as part of a multidisciplinary team, utilizing a community, youth and stakeholder engaged approach, to provide day-to-day management and coordination for all activities associated with planning, implementation and continuous improvement of strategies and activities toward achievement of HOPE Buffalo goals and objectives. HOPE Buffalo’s goal is to optimize youth wellness and reduce rates of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections through implementation of evidence-based and informed teen pregnancy prevention (TPP) programs, community-wide referral systems, communication activities, and ensure youth participation as part of coordinated efforts in five zip codes in Buffalo, New York: 14206, 14211, 14212, 14214, and 14215.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

  • Provide day-to-day management for all activities associated with planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of HOPE Buffalo strategies in alignment with workplan
  • Plan and support preparation for HOPE Buffalo CAI team, contractor, and partner meetings
  • Manage all activities associated with identification, engagement, convening, and evaluation of the HOPE Buffalo Community Action Team (CAT) and Action Groups (AGs)
  • Plan, schedule and facilitate participation in trainings for contractors and/or stakeholders and youth to support building their capacity to inform and implement project activities and evidence-based interventions
  • Provide support to Project Director in development and management of subcontract agreements, including monitoring progress toward achievement of scope of work
  • Establish and maintain systems to ensure timely payment of youth and community members for their contributions to achievement of project goals and objectives
  • Provide support to Project Director in monitoring budget expenditures and addressing funder reporting requirements
  • Maintain working relationships with project partners, stakeholders, and youth toward achievement of Project objectives
  • Maintain project files according to CAI standards
  • Update, maintain, and ensure quality in project management databases (i.e., Quickbase, Training Management System)
  • Utilize data for continuous quality improvement
  • Record and disseminate team and Partner meeting proceedings
  • Ensure adherence to funder, federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as necessary/assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Master’s degree in public health, education, community engagement, and social work or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least five years of program management experience.
  • Ability to work respectfully and productively with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project objectives
  • Ability to establish rapport and work productively and sensitively with diverse stakeholders, community members, and partners, including youth.
  • Ability to identify and leverage existing resources to support the achievement of initiative objectives.
  • Has successfully applied knowledge of principles and practices associated with community mobilization and stakeholder engaged initiatives (e.g., group facilitation, systems design, delivery of training and technical assistance).
  • Has successfully applied knowledge of principles and practices of providing social services to culturally diverse populations and addressing social determinants of health
  • Capacity to utilize various word processing/computer programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing for professional and community audiences.
  • Team player and self-starter.
  • This position requires working in an office and 50-75% local travel and occasional out-of-state travel.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance, and the use of a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.

PREFERRED:

  • Significant knowledge of the Buffalo Community, CBOs, informal and formal community leaders, and Buffalo Public School System.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Project Manager’s job. While performing the Project Manager’s responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. This position requires the employee to be on-site at a CAI office. The employee is often required to sit and work at a desk for prolonged periods of time and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and set-up of training materials and resources. The position requires daily use of a personal computer and requires entering, viewing, and revising text and graphics on the computer terminal and on paper. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000. CAI offers a generous benefits package including:
