QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a DevSecOps Digital Engineer to join our team at APG, MD to support our customer, Project Manager Intelligence Systems & Analytics (PM IS&A).


Job Description

We are seeking a talented DevSecOps Digital Engineer to support PM IS&A digital engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, security practices, and operations. In this role, the candidate will work closely with Army Intelligence teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle, automate security testing, and ensure compliance with security standards. Additionally, the candidate will work across all functional disciplines and integrated product teams in a holistic product lifecycle management environment.

Duties:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain DevSecOps infrastructure supporting multiple teams across multiple development, test, and production environments.
  • Assist with the development, testing, maintenance and debugging of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Define and implement DevSecOps processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Grow DevSecOps awareness and improve adoption through advocacy, integrating DevSecOps into the greater product lifecycle management.
  • Design and implement security tools and automation scripts to improve security posture.
  • Collaborate with Army Intelligence teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle.
  • Support security reviews, audits, and penetration testing.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in classified and unclassified environments.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents in accordance with DoD RMF policies.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, DoD STIGs).
  • Stay up to date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
  • Transition legacy processes to digital engineering practices and support other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience employing Agile software methodologies and tools: Scrum, Kanban, Jira.
  • Experience with the Agile software development lifecycle and digital engineering integration with product lifecycle management.
  • Experience with software BOMs incorporated into product BOMs.
  • Experience using Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience administering Red Hat Linux within an Active Directory domain.
  • Experience with cloud hosting and security (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with additional/advanced networking concepts, e.g., IP, DNS, SSL, DHCP, LDAP, NFS, CIFS, SMTP, NTP, Kerberos, TLS, PKI, routing, BGP, IPsec, MACsec.
  • Experience writing or maintaining programs/scripts written in additional languages, e.g., PowerShell, C/C++, Java, JavaScript, BASH, Python, Matlab.
  • Experience with cross domain solutions (e.g., Forcepoint/Everfox).
  • Experience using and administering GitLab CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure, including security and quality tool integration with, e.g., Nessus, Trivy, SonarQube.
  • Experience using or administering additional container technologies, e.g., Istio, Helm, MinIO.
  • Experience writing, maintaining, or employing Infrastructure as Code technologies, e.g., Ansible, Terraform.
  • Experience using or administering monitoring tools, e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Splunk.
  • Experience using or administering binary repository tools, e.g., Nexus, Artifactory.
  • Experience using or administering web application stacks, e.g., JavaScript/Node/React, Python/Flask/Gunicorn, Java/Tomcat, Apache, Ngnix.
  • Experience using or administering database tools, e.g., MariaDB, InfluxDB, MongoDB.
  • Experience using build systems, e.g., Visual Studio Build, MSBuild, CMake, Maven, Ant.
  • Experience writing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience administrating DevSecOps technologies (e.g., GitLab, Prometheus, Kubernetes, Nexus) in a production environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times and shifting priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Degree may be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least ten (10) years of related experience is required.

Required Clearance:

  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Top Secret w/ SCI eligibility

Travel:

Less than 10% travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment:

This position will be co-located with the customer and other contractors in Government office spaces.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full‐time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.

QED offers a competitive compensation package for employees. Our total compensation package is value-based and negotiable depending upon the candidate’s specific skills and applicable relevant experience.
