Production Supervisor

Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday (More than 40hrs)

Potential for full-time hire.

Pay Rate: 90K-140k

Location: Linthicum Heights, MD

Experience: 10+ YEARS

Attire: Full length pants, and non-slip shoes.

Job Summary: 

PrideStaff is assisting a food product manufacturer in the Linthicum Heights, MD area with a Warehouse Associate. This position consists of the production of food, moving at a fast paced environment and being mobile on feet for 8 hours. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervising Production Staff: Direct and supervise the activities of 40+ food
  • production workers to complete scheduled work.
  • Ensure the team follows established standards, procedures, and processes for quality, safety, food safety, and production.
  • Setting Standards and Procedures: Set and implement standards, procedures, and processes for improved GMPS, Safety, Continuous Improvement, and efficient
    operations.
  • Staff Training and Orientation: Responsible for hiring, orienting, and training both technical and non-technical food manufacturing personnel.
  • Assign roles based on competence and work demand. Utilize temporary staffing needs and coordinate with
    outside agencies.
  • Motivating and Supervising Work Crew: Ensuring that daily production targets are met is a key responsibility.
  • The Manager must motivate and supervise the work crew to set expectations, hold them accountable, and most importantly, promote a fully engaged learning environment.
  • Effective communication and finding ways to reward associates is a critical skillset.
  • Sales and Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the Ownership to develop and implement strategies for driving order fulfillment for critical customers or seasonal
    products.
  • Risk Assessment and Problem Solving: Before initiating a process changes, prepare an analysis to identify potential risks and possible problems. Also, proactively prepare
    mitigation plans to address these issues.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety procedures and guidelines for food processing operations. Collaborate with the quality department to monitor
    various aspects of food processing.
  • Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: Regularly inspect food production equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Maintain compliance with internal and USDA food production regulations. Prepare recommendations for improved
    equipment reliability.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Prepare and present daily, weekly and monthly reports to update company management on production operations, yield, and labor
    utilization Including recommendations to increase product quality and savings
  • opportunities.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience supervising employees in a manufacturing / production / industrial environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience leading others through a process change.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills working with all levels of the organization and across functions.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of the financial impact of business decisions.
  • Effecting staffing, product components and inventory
  • Must be a dynamic self-starter, work independently, and proactively initiate action steps for problem solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively from the plant floor to the front office
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to propose and implement improvements to systems and ways of working.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
