We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team that has the desire to learn and grow while working directly with the Controller. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail, has a sense of self-awareness, confident, does well under pressure, has ability to multitask, and anticipative. The job requires that work be done at a steady, consistent, and unhurried pace. Being more conceptual than detail-oriented, the work requires a broad viewpoint and determination to achieve results.

Experience:

We are looking for someone with a background in public accounting (audit) that has experience with NetSuite and is comfortable using accounting software and Microsoft Office, primarily Microsoft Excel. The right applicant will also have knowledge and experience in assisting with financial reporting and budget management such as month-end close, journal entries, AP, Fixed Asset/Construction in Progress accounting, accruals, and cash flows. This person will also gain exposure to the Company's accounting operations management, including its production of financial reports, proper upkeep of a sufficient accounting records system, and collaboration with the Real Estate department in a team effort to track ongoing construction cost and ultimately ensure the Company’s continued success. A candidate with experience working for construction companies and/or exposure to a high growth environment is highly preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Excel, NetSuite, Mineral Tree, and other accounting software for all assigned functions relating to Accounting
  • Responsible for monthly Revenue entries and establishing a scalable process of reconciling Revenue to cash receipts
  • Maintain fixed assets and effectively track construction in progress in collaboration with the Real Estate department
  • Collaborate with outside vendor to provide necessary documentation to calculate ASC 842 entries on a quarterly basis
  • Review and record transactions for multiple locations
  • Review and reconcile intercompany charges monthly
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned functions including: Fixed Assets, Intangibles, Debt, Equity
  • Adhere to monthly close schedule
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Additional duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting, CPA or CPA track preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting
  • Project Accounting and construction experience a plus
  • Proficiency in NetSuite preferred
  • Experience with multi-site Accounting environments strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Team player willing to learn new tasks
  • Must be capable of handling sensitive and confidential information

Physical Requirements:

  • The position requires occasional bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items or materials of moderate weight up to 30 pounds.
  • The ability to speak clearly, to hear and understand at a normal conversational level, and to receive detailed information through verbal communication.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: developing material; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Full range of hand and finger motion for data entry purposes.
