Senior Tax Accountant

Position Overview: As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the firm's continued success. This full-time position, located conveniently on the Nassau/Suffolk border in Syosset, NY, requires your presence in the office five days a week. While you'll enjoy regular business hours from Monday to Friday, flexibility is key, as extended hours and occasional Saturdays will be necessary during tax seasons and statutory deadline periods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple engagements to ensure timely client deliverables
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels on client engagements
• Review complex corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and individual income tax returns
• Prepare complex tax returns as needed (1040's, 1041's, 1120's, 1065's)
• Demonstrate expertise in estate and trust taxation
• Provide financial planning guidance for high-net-worth individuals
• Manage tax notices and examinations with government agencies
• Conduct tax research and provide training on related topics
• Develop year-end tax projections and strategies for clients
• Oversee workflow and nurture client relationships
• Supervise and mentor staff accountants, evaluating their progress
• Deliver client-focused communications and webinars as necessary

Requirements & Qualifications:

• 3 to 5+ years of public accounting experience with a track record of leading multiple engagements
• CPA preferred or required with a diverse tax background
• Proficiency in CCH Axcess Tax, Engagement, and QuickBooks
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Must live on Long Island
