Job Description

Work is performed under direct supervision using blueprints, PBS’s and both written and verbal instruction. Performs basic and routine mechanical assembly operations on components and final assemblies in various departments.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Continuously improves products and processes and participates in quality improvement teams when appropriate.

2. Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery to the customer by maintaining productivity and following department schedules.

3. Recommends ways to save money and cut unnecessary costs.

4. Responsible for satisfying the needs of internal and external customers by responding to customer requests, understanding customer requirements and building successful, productive customer relations.

5. Performs operations as required in battery packs, ISP silkscreen, final assembly and wire assembly.

6. Inserts components into circuit boards and prepares parts for soldering.

7. Performs edgepainting operations on lenses for pushbuttons and assembles pushbuttons.

8. Builds and tests switches in ISP.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accurately completes all related paperwork and wanding functions.

2. Follows all company safety policies and procedures.

3. Reacts to change productively and handles other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must pass pre-employment eye exam.

Requires six (6) months previous experience as an electronic assembler or completed training in electronic assembly classes.

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must demonstrate excellent hand/eye coordination and demonstrate ability to work with small parts.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Operator will spend 50% to 75% of the time sitting at work bench.

Time spent daily in dark room depending upon operations being performed.

Must wear respirator when performing painting operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to sit at work station for entire shift.

Moderate impact on sales, costs or assets. Work is performed under direct supervision.
