Overview

DESCO Operations division is seeking a Field Service Technician - Biomed to join our team. Previous experience in medical technology repair services or industrial wiring and controls is preferred. Responsibilities

  • The technician will understand how to utilize the prescribed manufacturer specifications as outlined in the asset management system.
  • The technician will adhere to and maintain punctuality according to the assigned work schedule as determined by the regional dispatcher.
  • Collaborate with the dispatcher to manage customer base effectively, prioritizing customer needs.
  • Maintain frequent communication with the dispatcher to provide work order service and schedule updates.
  • The technician will understand and utilize correctly the asset management system to report time, expenses and the technical documentation needed to complete work orders.
  • The technician will conduct and perform a variety of services that may include, but are not limited to: Preventative Maintenance inspection, preventative maintenance management, service repairs, installation, and troubleshooting.

This role is expected to:

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections following manufacturer specifications using the prescribed tools/resources necessary for repairs and installations.
  • Ensure all testing tools and/or resources are calibrated.
  • Keep accurate and neat maintenance and inventory records.
  • The technician is responsible for maintaining and updating 3rd party vendor credentialing requirements.
  • Maintain an organized vehicle with necessary tools, manuals, and parts required to provide efficient repairs and installations.
  • Responsible for participating in ongoing diverse medical equipment training.
  • Within (6) months demonstrate a general understanding of the standards and regulations of the Industry Compliance Agencies (i.e. Joint Commission, CMS, CAP)
  • Understand and comply with all mandatory annual training requirements.
  • Understand and comply with DESCO Employee Handbook Policy and Procedures.


Requirements:

Physical Requirement:

  • Routine movement such as walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, sitting, standing, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling and grasping.
  • Walking and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Performing work at a variety of levels, including floor to above shoulder height. This may include the use of ladders.
  • Routinely lifting, lowering and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • PPE use

Required Qualifications

  • Criminal & Background verification.
  • Driver & License verification.
  • 50% Travel, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Vaccine status and records.
  • Communication: English language fluency, orally and written.
  • Shift flexibility: possible weekend.
  • Cellphone accessibility

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a field related to the position.
